Recently, Baltimore Ravens tackle Eugene Monroe took to Twitter to call out NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for refusing to modify the NFL’s stance on Marijuana.

Shortly after the story broke, Monroe donated $80,000 to researchers at Johns Hopkins and the University of Pennsylvania for studies to examine the impact of cannabinoid therapies on current and retired NFL players. Back in February, Senator Elizabeth Warren wrote a letter to CDC Chief Tom Friedan urging the agency to look into the impact of the legalization of medical and recreational marijuana on opioid overdose deaths. Is the mainstream fianally starting to acknowledge Cannabis as a safe alternative to dangerous prescription medications?
