Botanacor Laboratories and Agricor Laboratories test raw materials, as well as products derived from cannabis, both marijuana for the regulated market, and hemp for the rapidly growing unregulated market. We provide clients with a variety of analytical as well as microbiology analyses for their raw materials (flower) all the way to finished products. In Colorado, Agricor is recognized as the premier marijuana testing lab and Botanacor is a market leader within, as well as, outside of Colorado. We are located in Denver, with 2 facilities and growing rapidly. We are searching for a Laboratory Manager who wants to grow with us.
Roles and Responsibilities
Primary responsibility of the Laboratory Manager is to oversee the safe and effective daily operations of the laboratories to make certain the work product gets to clients on time, with documented and safe processes and procedures, while enhancing employee morale.
The Laboratory Manager will perform a variety of general and laboratory-specific administrative duties. For example: evaluating and hiring job applicants to meet staffing needs, organizing or administering training and laboratory orientation, managing work schedules and employee outages, reviewing staff performance, managing performance evaluations and employee feedback. The Laboratory Manager will also help develop laboratory procedures, assist in trouble shooting problems and equipment, and work with the quality organization to resolve any Out of Specification (OOS) events.
The Laboratory Manager may create and manage lab-related documentation and organize laboratory activities. Additionally, they often serve as the primary point of contact with clients to provide technical information. The Laboratory Manager will manage spend to stay within budget, as well as assist in the monitoring and management of laboratory KPIs. The Laboratory Manager ensures that all laboratory staff comply with policies and procedures, making certain laboratory results are all produced with the utmost of data integrity. Ability to prioritize and within workflows. Manage new ideas to energize staff and improve working conditions. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Five years of previous management roles above the level of supervisor within an Analytical, Quality Control, or Production laboratory. Documented management of at least 4 direct reports and 20-30 indirect reports. Demonstrated working understanding of laboratory instrumentation to include (HPLC, HPLC/MS, GC, ICP/MS, etc.). History of managing instrument vendors and maintenance contracts with vendors.
